Leyden helped my wife and I set up our new apartment in Park Slope, Brooklyn. We had moved from a large house in the suburbs into a very modestly sized two bedroom. We brought none of the furniture from the house; wanted to start from scratch, find pieces that really worked in our new more limited space environment, pieces with the right look and the right feel, pieces that would meet our physical needs while creating a sense of comfortable spaciousness. Leyden did a magnificent job of helping us find the right piece for the right place. He guided us through various showrooms throughout the city until we had discovered just the right this or that, sofa, chair, table, whatever. No complete sets. A diverse selection of antique and contemporary pieces that Leyden brought together for a unique and very classy look, always keeping in mind our particular and personal tastes. Leyden's work started well before the selections of furniture and furnishings. There were floors to be refinished, kitchen renovations (a new stone back splash, alterations in the cabinet configurations, moving the built in micro wave). On to the den area ( knocking out a small closet and replacing it with a much larger L closet that took away no useable space, and with floor to ceiling doors matching the walls, seems almost not to be there. Another neat idea Leyden came up with for the den was this built in computer console providing extensive shelf space andthree drawers, including a deep file drawer, all of this while maintaining a sense of openness in a narrow room. Leyden rounded up all of the labor for these various projects. Leyden covered every detail in putting together our new apartment: rugs, paints, curtains, blinds, light fixtures and ceiling lighting (some very nice light features), flat TVs (no wires in sight), just everything. Finally, Leyden is just great to work with, very cordial and personable, easy going. I highly recommend him. Ed Sheldon
