Our first impression of Carl upon meeting him was that we were impressed by the balance of his professionalism and easygoing, fun attitude. He seemed very relaxed and made us feel comfortable as well. When it got down to business he laid out the facts for us in a way that wasn't pushy or arrogant. My (then) fiance and I told him we wanted a dj that was both classy and entertaining and we definitely got the best of both worlds with DJ by the C.
Beside the fact that Carl allowed us control over which songs we wanted played, he was also very insightful with his advice on which songs would create certain moods that would best accomodate the events that go on during the reception (first dance, entrance, cake ceremony, etc.) Also, he explained to us step-by-step what his methods were, how his former experiences went, and what equipment he used and how it would work to ensure the best possible sound for our event. Knowing that Carl had that much insight and experience gave us that assurance and confidence that he should dj our wedding reception.
As far as coordinating our program for the wedding reception, my husband and I were blessed not to just have Carl there, but another one of his associates, Steve, to dj as well. They both did a wonderful job making sure that our reception went smoothly, and that all the bases we had previously discussed were covered. The best part is that my husband and I didn't need to worry about a thing--we explained to them how we wanted our program conducted, and they followed through completely. The overall atmosphere at our reception was both relaxed and lively when the mood needed to be, and we could tell that our guests were happy with the music and program, which was important to both of us.
Overall, Steve and Carl were both very professional, chic, and enjoyable. They really did set a beautiful tone to our wedding with their work, and they weren't at all obnoxious, or corny like the cliche about wedding Djs usually go. I would definitely recommend DJ by the C for anyone looking for fun, reliable entertainment for their upcoming event.
