In January of 2004 my wife and I were contemplating (for us) a significant renovation to our existing home. We were unsure if we could afford to complete the remodel.
We interviewed 6 contractors; the first 4 left us very discouraged, then we were contacted by Val Campbell of Pendragon Construction.
Val listened to us, understood our limited budget, and had suggestions that could help us make this project possible. The other contractors we had interviewed wanted to contract for the total project; Val advised that we could save money if we contracted some of the work ourselves.
His initial estimate was encouraging, we met with him andthe project manager he was going to asign to our project, and over the next 6 to 8 weeks Pendragon Construction worked with us to establish a budget (including a reasonable contingency for unforeseen issues) that would allow us to proceed.
Construction began in late June 2004. Pendragon's scope of work was scheduled to be complete by the end of August, they met their schedule.
Pendragon's people were outstanding; they were efficient, and creative when unforseen items were encountered. They were considerate of the fact that we still needed to live in our home during the construction.
Best of all, they stuck to their budget. As with all remodels, unforeseen issues come up during all projects. We had a few minor changes to the scope of the project; they were minimaland the additional charges from Pendragon were very reasonable, in fact there were items of work that had been allowed for that were not necessary, and those items were deducted from the total contract price.
My wife and I couldn't have been more pleased with Pendragons work and personnel.
I would highly recommend them to any friend who is contemplating residential construction work.
