First off, we had some extreme circumstances happen during our project (concrete shortage & 3 hurricanes). But even setting all of that aside, the project was not well run. Scheduling was poor. Communication was poor. The work was OK (some great, some poor). Communication was the key issue I think. There was little communication between us and the general contractor and there was little communication between the general contractor and the sub-contractors. Up front, there is no way to know something like this could happen but I would not recommend them based on our experience. Maybe for small, one-task jobs but nothing that requires planning or weeks of work. We signed the contract in April 2004 and it was all complete in December 2004. This was a "4-5 week job".
